Consultancy team
Rochelle Mortier

Rochelle's experience comprises 14 years in accounting, finance and financial management consulting and 5 years on research and advocacy on sustainable investment and responsible business practices, especially pertaining to issues of international development and climate change.

Rochelle began her career with Cargill, a US commodity and trading multinational where she was trained in audit, trading accounting and finance in the UK and the Netherlands. After completion of an MBA she worked as a management consultant with Coopers & Lybrand and Price Waterhouse on corporate finance and strategic change projects and as a senior finance manager for MCI WorldCom managing finance-driven change programmes.

In 2001, Rochelle pursued an MSc in International Relations in order to understand political and economic perspectives on issues of international development and 'globalisation'. Realising the urgency of applying responsible business and investment practices that take into account local realities, Rochelle worked for an Indian NGO as a research fellow and advocate on responsible business practices in South Asia and for Greenpeace International on advocacy for sustainable investment in the context of climate risk. At Greenpeace, Rochelle developed a framework of Corporate Governance for Climate Risk and wrote the Greenpeace submission to the Norwegian Ministry of Finance on best practice investment principles for climate risk for the Norwegian sovereign wealth pension fund – 'Global'.

Rochelle has a BA (Hons) in European Studies, Finance and Accounting, MBA and MSc International Relations.
